How would you describe your culinary style?
As much as I try to dress it up, my culinary style is really quite simple. The Unseasoned Wok is about maintaining family traditions while trying my best to get dinner on the table.  I pride myself on those nights when I can turn a few eggs and some dried mushrooms into a passable dinner for my family or when I pull off a dish that wins the approval of my kids and my father-in-law.  I don’t fuss over fancy ingredients or follow a bunch of eating rules, although I do try to err on the side of eating more vegetables when I can manage it.

What is the main source of inspiration for your recipes?
I would have to say family and my home, Hawaii.  I started blogging so I could record my family’s recipes and at the same time learn a few new ones along the way.  Being born and raised in Hawaii where cultures and cuisines come together from all over the world, and being married to a family of restaurateurs, I’m never short on bloggable material.

If you could have one food while stranded on a desert island, what would it be?
Fried rice because you can eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and it never gets old.

For someone new to your blog, which recipe do you recommend they try first?

What is your ultimate guilty food pleasure?
Buttered movie popcorn with arare.
